To end the week, here’s a quick pointer to a useful RSS feed for anyone following the maturation of Visual Studio and .NET ‘Orcas’ as it heads towards release in the second-half of 2007.
Following a decision to increase the transparency of the development process within Microsoft, several of the teams are now contributing towards a maintained page here. You’ll find details of the new feature sets that are being planned whether they’re within the latest CTP release or on the cards for a future one. The feed is certainly worth an occassional glance.
Note: The teams have chosen to put up the specifications in the new .xps format, so you’ll need to install the latest .NET 3.0 runtime from here before you can display it on a Windows XP machine. If you’re in the rarefied group of corporate Vista adopters you need do nothing, of course, since the new format is supported natively.
