Vista rolls out to the retail channel.

Nov 30, 04:46 am

It’s Thursday 30th November, and Windows Vista has just started its global roll-out to business customers. Anyone with a corporate licensing deal should be able to download the new OS from today. The rest of us will have to wait until the new year (around the 30th January according to some sources) before we can get out hands on the final release version.

If I might risk a small plug, Apress are producing a Windows Vista: Beyond the Manual book to help people get the most from the new operating system. It will be released in January to correspond with the unrestricted launch. Anyone who’s already got access to a copy might find Jon Hassell and Tony Campbell’s Beyond the Manual blog useful in the meantime.
